The second weekend of the month brings several iterations of neighborhood-centric celebrations. Wander through the Cherokee Arts District and the DeMun Business District, get active in Tower Grove Park and experience new facets of neighborhood staples in The Grove and South Grand.

Flora Borealis
The Botanical Garden keeps us coming back all summer with a stacked schedule of event series. Next up: Flora Borealis, a one-mile journey through quintessential Garden locations illuminated and brought to life through visuals and sound. All ticket holders can wander the grounds beginning at 7 p.m. and enjoy live entertainment and brews at the Biergarten.

Food Truck Friday
Sauce Magazine is back with another installment of their famed Food Truck Friday in Tower Grove Park, featuring more than 20 culinary outposts, local beer, wine and cider, and live music. Don’t forget a picnic blanket—you’ll want to lounge, nosh and people-watch for hours.

When: August 10 from 4-8 p.m.

Live Fridays at Found by the Pound
One Friday each month in the summer, Found by the Pound thrift store on South Grand will throw a party to launch never-before-seen inventory, featuring student discounts, complimentary champagne, wares from local vendors, and live entertainment. August highlights their extensive collection of authentic vintage tees and includes a performance by Evoke Circus Arts.

Free Movie Nights by the Lake at Westport Plaza
In August and September, Westport Plaza hosts a free, family-friendly outdoor movie night overlooking the lake after sundown. Pack your own picnic or take advantage of the Westport Plaza bars and eateries. Bring a blanket in case you arrive too late to snag a spot at their built-in seating.

St. Louis Classic: Tower Grove Park Criterium Bike Race
Calling all bikers—competitive bike races are returning to Tower Grove Park this weekend during the St. Louis Classic, all afternoon on Saturday. Join in or cheer on the participants as they pedal through a 1.5-mile loop in the park’s southeast section. Cool off with beverages courtesy of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, and fuel up with fare from BEAST Craft BBQ Co.

When: August 11 from 12-7:30 p.m.

Second Saturdays in DeMun
Second Saturdays in DeMun continue this weekend with an evening block party chock full of exclusive one-night-only offerings from local businesses. Experience the best from DeMun’s cafes, restaurants, ice creameries, wine bars and boutiques.

Cherokee Street Second Saturdays Gallery Walk
Stroll along the Cherokee Street Arts District on the second Saturday of each month during a gallery walk running all evening. Make sure to stop by Mark Sheppard Gallery, Cherokee Street Gallery, The Juice, and Untitled Fine Art before 10 p.m. Meet artists and gallery owners from the region, and support the dynamic local arts community.

When: August 11 from 6-10 p.m.

Printbangerz Ball
We already love a crowded late night at Parlor in the Grove. This weekend, head to this colorful arcade bar for their annual summer print party, featuring limited-edition posters, a special beer tapping, exclusive drinks, live printing, piñatas, ice cream, and the chance to win special prizes.
