Saint Louis Art Museum to Give Away Free Tickets to Rachel Whiteread Exhibition
How often do you take notice of the underside of a table, or the gaps in a staircase, or the space between items in your medicine cabinet? One of the world’s leading contemporary artists, British sculptor Rachel Whiteread, will make you stop and do just that.
By assembling reverse casts of negative space above, below and in between everyday objects, Whiteread creates a range of evocative sculptures that make the invisible visible. Over the course of her 30-year career, she has employed different industrial materials, such as concrete, plaster and resin, and beautiful colors to transform the ordinary and unseen into striking works of art that are impossible to ignore.
“Rachel Whiteread” is the first comprehensive survey of the artist’s practice, bringing together more than 90 pieces that will change the way you think about sculpture. And the Saint Louis Art Museum is giving away two sets of two tickets to see the show for free!
