WildSmoke to Transform to New Concept EdgeWild Bar & Grill this Spring

Creve Coeur’s smokehouse and bar WildSmoke will be closing this Saturday, Jan. 10, after one year in business. The fast-casual barbecue joint came from the team behind EdgeWild Restaurant and Winery in Chesterfield, which announced the plans yesterday, Jan. 7, to reopen the space in the spring as new concept EdgeWild Bar & Grill. According to owner Andy Kohn, WildSmoke worked well in many ways, but ultimately didn’t hit the mark that the restaurant group set for themselves.

“We noticed that while many of our patrons were all-out BBQ fans, enjoying our fare regardless of the features and amenities, the majority expected a dining experience like that of EdgeWild,” says Todd Wyatt, director of operations of EdgeWild and WildSmoke. “Combining that with the local restaurant marketplace and how we’d like to grow as a restaurant group, we’re going to stick with what we do best—the EdgeWild brand and experience—and reconcepting is the right thing to do at this time.”

The spin-off bar and grill will be overseen by Aaron Baggett—also executive chef of EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery—with a menu focusing on traditional bar food, appetizers, sandwiches and regional fare.
