What To Wear: Contemporary Art Museum's Dada Ball & Bash

 In Style

One of the biggest parties of the year just so happens to be one of the most fashionably daring. The Contemporary Art Museum’s Dada Ball & Bash is one for the record books: Rule-breaking fashion, an unexpected and avant garde menu, open bar, surprise performances, live entertainment by St. Louis’ own Hawthorne Headhunters and 95.5’s DJ Sinamin and lots and lots of nonsensical thinking make it the party of the season—and your outfit should speak for itself!

Inspired by some new and old Dada looks, Fashion Editor Sarah Stallmann has pulled together some outfit inspiration to ensure your look doesn’t get lost in the crowd.

Dada is against the future.
Dada is dead,
Dada is idiotic,
long live Dada!

— Theo van Doesburg

The Look: Layering a ribbon-accented blouse under a structured and bold printed dress is the key to achieve this look. Plus lots of patent details and a hot pink pout.

The Look: Go for a fashion-forward, deconstructed blazer and rough it up with unexpected details: A bow-tie/black chain combo, black watch and boots give this look an edge that is fashion-forward and oh, so wearable.

6/ Inspiration: Mixed plaids and pinstripes at Vivienne Westwood.

The Look: Play it safe in the same color family or go all-out with a selection of pinstripes and plaids of a various color palette. Either way guys, this is not the event to show up in anything of the traditional variety—unless it has a twist!
