Reading and Book Signing: Novelist Luis Alberto Urrea
Left Bank Books welcomes Pulitzer Prize finalist Luis Alberto Urrea, who will sign and discuss his new novel, “The House of Broken Angels.” The book delves into themes of migration, family, mortality and love, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should definitely add it to your list.

Ravyn Lenae: Crush Tour
You’ll love this funky, soulful 19-year-old R&B singer from Chicago if you’re a fan of artists like Noname and SZA, both of whom Ravyn Lenae has joined on tour. Her “Crush” EP was produced by Steve Lacy, famed for composing a beat on Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN. “with just his iPhone. Jam to “Sticky,” the EP’s catchy single, then head to the Firebird to see Lenae in person.

Dog Day Friday with Urban Chestnut
Grab your doggo and head to the lawn outside UCBC’s Grove location for one of many “Dog Day Fridays” to come. Enjoy a cold beer, a grilled brat or dog (pun definitely intended), games, and adoption events. In collaboration with the Petfinder Foundation and Purina, 20 percent of all sales will benefit a different animal organization every week. The event takes place rain or shine thanks to a newly-installed tent.

100 Boots Poetry Series at the Pulitzer
Hear a range of emerging, mid-career, and established poets from St. Louis and across the United States read from their work at the fourth event of this series, organized by influential St. Louis poets Jessica Baran and Ted Mathys. Receive free limited-edition broadsides and pick up copies of selected works courtesy of Left Bank Books. Featured poets include Layli Long Soldier and Douglas Kearney.

Art Up Late at CAM
Just one Friday each season, CAM stays up past its bedtime for a 21+ exhibition-themed celebration. “Faster” presents the racing-themed artwork of the American artist Salvatore Scarpitta, including race cars he made for galleries and dirt tracks. Drink, dance, challenge your friends to some old-school racing video games, and watch a special performance by Consuming Kinetics Dance Company. Buy tickets early, since only a limited number are available at the door.

Reel Late at the Tivoli: ‘Get Out’
After Art Up Late, head to the elegant Tivoli Theatre on the Delmar Loop for a special screening of Oscar-winner “Get Out,” directed by Jordan Peele. Just try not to spill your popcorn all over yourself when you jump out of your seat.

2018 Saturday Market Kickoff
The 13th season of Tower Grove Farmers’ Market kicks off early Saturday morning. Pick up a bundle of seasonal produce every week throughout summer, and stay tuned for a new midweek market on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. starting April 24.

Food Truck Feast with 4 Hands Brewery
It’s food truck season! 4 Hands presents their annual family-friendly food truck event at their downtown brewery. Beer, live tunes, and a variety of snacks from the likes of Seoul Taco, Garbanzo Mediterranean, Katie’s Pizza & Pasta, Farmtruk, and more.

The Factory Fashion Show and Night Market
This biannual fashion show and market highlights the creativity and innovation in St. Louis fashion. Shop from an array of local vendors from 7-8 p.m. and 9-10 p.m., with a vibrant, theatrical fashion show between these blocks at 8 p.m. The show features new collections from St. Louis’ top designers: Michael Drummond, James Harrison, Q Liu, Yoro, Lauren Tracy, and special guest from Dallas, Colt Fuller. A $40-VIP ticket buys you a front-row seat with a complimentary beer and swag bag, including a free 90-minute session at FLOAT STL (a $65 value!).
