Last week a celeb-packed crowd gathered for an exclusive dinner event for the CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund at Spring Studios where footwear designer Paul Andrew—who currently has a namesake line and is also the lead designer for St. Louis-based Brown Shoe Company line Via Spiga—walked away with the top honor and $300,000.

In good company (other nominees included Orley, Edie Parker and Simon Miller), Andrew was admittedly speechless after the announcement that he was the Fashion Fund winner. “I can’t even begin to explain what the feeling is,” Andrew said to the New York Times. “I’m so overwhelmed.”

Andrew is the first non-ready-to-wear designer to be bestowed with the honor.
