This Week's Dish: Sugarfire Smoke House Takeover at Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria
Two of STL’s hottest dining spots are teaming up this week. Sugarfire Smoke House will get a spot on the menu at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria for one week only with a barbecue-inspired pie. The specialty pizza—available starting tonight through this Sunday, Nov. 22.—will feature Sugarfire’s pulled pork, Memphis marinara, collard greens and smoked mozzarella. 9568 Manchester Road, Rock Hill, 314.942.6555
La Patisserie Choquette has made a name for itself this time of year with the Turducken Croissant—which is pretty much a Thanksgiving meal stuffed inside a buttery pastry. The croissant is filled with turkey, duck and chicken surrounded by the bakery’s signature cornbread stuffing and fresh cranberry chutney before being topped off with fried onions and served with a side of creole-spiced turkey gravy. They’re only available Friday and Saturday (two per person) while supplies last, so get in line before these Turduckens are gone. 1626 Tower Grove Ave., Botanical Heights, 314.932.7935
The Travel Channel spent the last few days in STL filming an episode of “Food Paradise,” featuring the Downton and Clayton Sauce on the Side locations. Keep an eye out for airing times coming soon.
Nov. 21: A night of food, whiskey and stories. Join Juniper for a true underground dinner experience. With the evening’s mysterious location yet to be announced, master distiller Dan Gardner of Four Roses bourbon will be in attendance to share bourbon-soaked tales and drinks with fine eats from the Juniper team. Tickets include food and drinks.
Nov. 21: Need a little holiday menu inspiration? Head to Lucky’s Market Rock Hill for a tasting of popular Thanksgiving favorites like herb stuffing and all-natural roasted turkey from 11am-2pm. The event will also feature live music, samples from local vendors as well as apple cider and mulled wine samples. 9530 Manchester Road, Rock Hill
