There are 663 million people in the world that lack access to safe water. A new local coffee company called Silo Coffee + Goods supports a mission to bring you ethically sourced, gourmet coffee while aiming to provide clean water to impoverished communities in Latin America.

Currently offered online with a goal to operate a physical coffee cart, the company’s co-founders, Rachael and Anthony Burchett and Kim and Josh Jones, source beans for Silo from the same indigenous communities that they fund clean water projects in through Solea Water. Ten percent of the profits go directly toward the organization’s clean water efforts. They are in partnership with Blueprint Coffee as their roaster and TechArtista Coworking Center—where their offices are housed. Starting tonight, Nov. 30, a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 for a brick-and-mortar shop will begin. To help launch the campaign, you can meet the co-founders and taste the coffee tonight from 4-7pm at TechArtista. RSVP for free on Eventbrite. 4818 Washington Blvd., Central West End
