As reported on The Dish last week, the Missouri History Museum will honor St. Louis’ own Irma Rombauer, who wrote “The Joy of Cooking” in 1931. Admission to the event is free and it begins at 7pm in the AT&T Foundation Multipurpose Room. 5700 Lindell Blvd., Forest Park, 314.746.4599.

Two beloved local restaurants were nominated for the second annual Munchies, a national awards ceremony for popular food establishments hosted by Pappy’s Smokehouse will be up for the Best Barbecue while Guerrilla Street Food will fight for Best Food Truck. This weekend 4 Hands Brewing Company will celebrate their third annual Lupulin Carnival on March 8. The day honors everything hops-related and will mark the release of 4 Hands’ War Hammer Imperial IPA. Over 20 regional breweries will be there to partake in the festivities with tastings of their own hops-forward brews. Guests can enjoy eats from a handful of local food trucks while checking out the carnival-inspired activities. Tickets are available online or in person at 4 Hands tasting room. The tasting will be followed by a three-course dinner at Vintage Restaurant. Reservations are required for the event on April 26. 1110 Stone Hill Highway, Hermann, Mo., 573.486.2221.
