This Week's Dish: Pastaria Teams Up With Boulder Chefs and Tiffany's Original Diner Auditions for Food Network
Nov. 5: Pastaria’s Gerard Craft and team has invited chefs from Boulder, Colorado’s Pizzeria Locale for the restaurant’s third Pizza Takeover on Wednesday. The Takeover menu will include: Antipasto of Frittatine di Pasta with spaghetti, prosciutto cotto and provolone; Mustarda salad with baby mustard greens, fontina, cacciatorini, apple and garlic-anchovy vinaigrette. There will be three pizzas featuring Edison dough: Mais with mozzarella, creme fraiche, ham, corn and garlic; Diavola with tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, pepperoni, basil and chili flake; and Funghi with mozzarella, taleggio, oyster mushroom, scallion and garlic. Dessert will be a yogurt gelato with plum compote and pizzelle cookie. Guests can order á la carte or go all out and order four courses for $28. Nov. 6: Tiffany’s Original Diner submitted a short video to audition for a chance to be featured in a new Food Network documentary TV series called “American Diner Revival.” Whether chosen or not, the Maplewood crew plans to celebrate “Diner Style” this Thursday, Nov. 6, at Maya Cafe. There will be a viewing of the submission video along with throwback prices on classic diner fare such as Tiffany’s award-winning Rumchata milkshakes. Nov. 6: Plan to wear your best black and white attire and join us at Lucas Park Grille for their 10th Anniversary Celebration Downtown on Washington Avenue. Nov. 8: Enjoy a farm-inspired celebration at EarthDance’s 7th annual Farmers Formal at the Sheet Metal Workers Grand Hall from 6-10pm this Saturday. Complete with a locally-grown dinner, drinks, live music and a live and silent auctions, guests can celebrate and support all things local to benefit St. Louis’ nationally recognized EarthDance Organic Farm School. Central West End’s Chase Park Plaza Hotel will be bringing new executive pastry chef David Laufer to its team. As reported by FEAST, the chef specializes in chocolate and sugar sculptures and previously worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in LA, where he designed the Centennial Birthday cake for former President Ronald Reagan.
