This Week's Dish: MOFU Brings Back Ramen Pop-Up with Ices Plain and Fancy at Sump Coffee
Dec. 2: Starting this week, the brick-and-mortar location of Lulu’s Local Eatery will be open on Tuesdays. Fans of the sustainably-sourced, all-natural eatery can also work their way toward a free $7 with a new frequent visitor card for every $7 spent (one per visit). 3201 S. Grand Blvd., Tower Grove, 314.300.8215
Dec. 6: Support local dining this Saturday at Sump Coffee with the return of popular pop-up MOFU Ramen from 4-8pm. The local tofu company, in collaboration with the made-to-order nitro ice cream shop Ices Plain and Fancy, will allow guests to sample from a menu that will include a variety of items like the MOFU steamed bun (fried MOFU, hot honey, ginger and scallions) or the MOFU Ramen (gyoza, smoke shitake, dashi, BB chili MOFU and cured egg). Prepare to wash it all down with creative drinks by Scott Carey and the Sump crew.
“Mainly it is a venue for us to collaborate with awesome businesses that inspire us,” says MOFU owner Dan Brewer of the idea behind the pop-up. “Through these collaborations we are able to share that tofu is more than a substitute and can be awesome anytime.” 3700 S Jefferson Ave., South City, 917.412.5670
Plan to stop by The Loop for a new winter treat from Piccione Pastry. In addition to its popular classic items, expect to find new items like the spiced rum baba—a rum-soaked yeast cake with cinnamon, cloves and allspice, hand pies sold individually or in 4-packs, pumpkin cheesecake and more. Guests can also expect to be surprised by the rotating new fillings every weekend with the special “Crazy Cannoli” flavor. 6197 Delmar, The Loop, 314.932.1355
