Just before the holidays last week, Athlete Eats announced customers could conveniently place to-go orders online from the cafe. With an easy-to-browse menu of dishes like the bibimbap bowl and the popular selection of freshly-prepared juices and smoothies, you will be able to customize orders ready for pick-up at the Cherokee Street spot within just 30 minutes. Last month, owners Simon and Angelica Lusky continued to impress as they filled us in on the details of plans to open another brick-and-mortar spot, a new fine-dining concept as well as a food truck. Recent news then revealed 4-week package meals and new weekly menu items available for pick-up and delivery on the shop’s website, and the cafe got a menu makeover with addition of the grass-fed burger battle featuring the bun-less bulgogi burger topped with cucumber kimchi, over-easy egg and avocado. 2837 Cherokee St., Cherokee, 314.932.5566

Also new to Cherokee Street, multi-use spot Blank Space recently expanded—now with three floors—and is offering daytime hours complete with a food and drink program. As reported by Riverfront Times, the two-year-old community space’s owner, Kaveh Razani, wanted to satisfy customers with edible options and brought on chef William Pauley of Confluence Kombucha and Confluence Artisan Goods to offer grab-and-go options such as veggie chips, granola sweetened with rhubarb syrup, homemade pita to dip in hummus, baba ghanoush and more. The bar has also has an expanded collection, including Blueprint Coffee, ReTrailer Tea, craft beers and cocktails. 2847 Cherokee St., Cherokee, 314.300.8831

Annie Gunn’s received a new team member as Andrew Jennrich left his position as head butcher at Butchery, citing differing opinions over the direction of  Butchery. The addition of Jennrich to Chesterfield’s popular smokehouse, as reported by Sauce, will come with several duties. Ryan McDonald, who joined the Truffles and Butchery team in October as a sous chef, will take on the role as head butcher. 16806 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield, 636.532.7684
