Oct. 15: Saint Louis Fashion Fund’s Emerging Designer Competition presented by Brown Shoe Company
Six finalists will present their collections and one designer will be selected by our expert judging panel, led by New York Fashion Week creator, Fern Mallis, to receive an award of $15,000. The six finalists include designers Collina Strada, Harbison, Wai Ming, Daniella Kallmeyer, Jessie Liu and Remi Canarie. The event will also feature a still modeling presentation made up of five local “Designers to Watch.” Attendees will award one outstanding designer with a $2,500 cash prize through a people’s choice vote funded by Saint Louis Fashion Week. Designers include Michael Drummond, Paulie Gibson, Nasheli Juliana, Trang Nguyen and Pink Elephants Designs. Oct. 16: Yigal Azrouël, Tess Giberson, Timo Weiland Runway Shows + Saint Rita Parlor Fashion Presentation
This event will showcase top national design talent. The show will take place in St. Louis Union Station’s Midway on the longest runway in STLFW history. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception with Pinnacle Vodka, Skinnygirl Wines, Peroni Italian Lager, Redd’s Apple Ale while musing over a fashion presentation, light appetizers and live music, followed by a New York-level runway show. An after-party will take place in St. Louis Union Station’s elegant Grand Hall immediately following the event and will feature London Calling, DJ Timo Weiland and Billy Brown. Oct. 16: RAW St. Louis presents AXIS
RAW St. Louis’ next multi-media event will take place this Thursday at The Ready Room at 4195 Manchester Ave. in The Grove. Featured artists, designers and performers include Jeanette O’Brien, Nikkey Creative, Felice Skye, Rebellious Designs, Bella Be and many more. 8pm-12am. Oct. 16: Craftoberfest at Urban Chestnut
Craftoberfest is St. Louis’ first lantern-lit outdoor night market featuring local beer, live music, and some of the best handmade goods & vintage finds our fair city has to offer. Oct. 16-18: Buckley K Trunk Show at Woody’s Mens Shop
Join Buckley K this Thursday through Saturday to shop their Paris-inspired collection of effortlessly chic separates. This fall their focus is on the knit pieces every woman needs in her suitcase and closet. There will be event-only discounts and new pieces available to shop. Hours on Oct. 16-17 are from 10am-7pm. On Oct. 18 hours are from 10am-6pm.
Oct. 17: Designer Pop-up Shop at Saks Fifth Avenue
Shop the looks right off the runway of the Oct. 16 runway shows by Yigal Azrouël, Tess Giberson and Timo Weiland. This is a free event. 11am-3pm. Plaza Frontenac.
Oct. 17 “Pathology of Glamour” Opening at William Shearburn Gallery
The Saint Louis Fashion Fund presents a showing of fashion portraiture entitled “The Pathology of Glamour.” Ten percent of the sales made during the opening will go toward the Saint Louis Fashion Fund’s initiative to develop a fashion incubator housed in the former Garment District. This is a free event. 5-8pm. 665 S. Skinker Blvd.
Oct. 17: Saint Louis Fashion Fund’s Inaugural Gala
The inaugural Saint Louis Fashion Fund Gala will take place at Union Station, welcoming a variety of fashion supporters, civic leaders and business professionals. Awards will be presented to honorees Derek Blasberg and Karlie Kloss. Proceeds will support STLFF’s goal of creating a fashion incubator in Downtown St. Louis, which will provide emerging fashion designers with valuable resources to launch their careers. 7-11pm.
Oct. 18: Saint Louis Fashion Week’s Midwest Fashion Conference
For the first time, Saint Louis Fashion Week presents a day devoted to a discussion about fashion across multiple platforms, prompted by questions, considerations and observations by renowned industry leaders, scholars, civic leadership and community advocates. The afternoon presents two tracks of concurrent sessions, one focused on career development for emerging and mid-career professionals: Designers, stylists, art directors, writers, marketers. The second track is organized around several artist talks and lectures by faculty at the Sam Fox School that consider and examine the impact fashion has on contemporary culture. Oct. 18: Style In The Loop
The annual fashion event highlights the eclectic assortment of Delmar Loop businesses and local designers. Festivities kick off from 3-5pm with designer meet-and-greets at participating Loop business. From 5-7pm, guests will enjoy drinks and dinner specials at participating Loop establishments and from 7-9pm there will be a runway show featuring local designers at the Moonrise Hotel.
