  • Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri was thrilled with the news that they were ranked the No. 13th top fashion program in the world alongside big name fashion schools including FIT and SCAD, as published by London-based Business of Fashion. The Missouri school also ranked No. 1 when it comes to long-term value and No. 5 for learning experience. Stephens, an all-female school, has long been a top choice for aspiring fashion professionals, offering programming designed to propel students into a successful career in the industry.
  • St. Louis-based footwear designer Claire Flowers has announced that her eponymous comfort shoe line will be carried by Tom James as the first women’s brand that the online retailer has partnered with. In addition to Flowers’ line of heels she describes as “functional luxury,” Tom James carries top men’s brands from Ferragamo to Allen Edmonds.
  • Burlington will be opening up a new location in Chesterfield at Chesterfield Blue Valley at 18570 Outlet Blvd. on Sept. 18. At 9:30am, the retailer will hold its ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate, in addition to hosting Burlington Gives Back, a philanthropic program dedicated to donating new merchandise to local charitable agencies in communities surrounding Burlington locations.

Sept. 19: Lavelle Denim Launch
Lindenwood University graduate and fashion designer Stephen Curd returns to St. Louis from Chicago for the official launch of his newest venture, Lavelle Denim, for the first stop of The Traveling Tailor Pop-Up Shop at Bronx-Diba in Earth City. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 11am-4pm and highlight the brand’s first full collection and allow new customers to try on jeans with the assistance and guidance of the designer himself. 3630 Corporate Trail Dr., Earth City
