This Week In Fashion: Isaac Mizrahi Comes To CAM This Week And Jan Leach Givens Launches Showroom 314
On March 15, from 6-8pm, fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi heads to St. Louis for an exclusive cocktail event hosted by the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, held at the Contemporary Art Museum. Mizrahi will share the inspiration behind his creative process for directing and designing the upcoming production of “The Magic Flute“ this spring. A cash bar cocktail service begins at 6pm with Mizrahi’s remarks beginning at 7pm, with Q&A to follow. DJ Trash Talk will spin music throughout the evening. Dimvaloo Active Living hosts a “spring cleaning” event, Girls Night Out, on Thursday, March 13 from 5:30-8:30. Guests can bring in their gently used athletic clothing and receive a 15 percent allowance toward new purchases. The Ladue Road boutique also recently began hosting a series of Wednesday evening events called Wine Down Wednesday, where guests can enjoy complimentary wine after a free Pilates workout with instructor Sharon Candelario. St. Louis-based stylist and personal shopper Jan Leach Givens announced late last week that she will be launching a new venture, Showroom 314, this spring. Inspired by the various design talents in the St. Louis area, Givens has tapped into her various fashion industry experiences and will represent select designers at markets across the country. ALIVE’s Jennifer Dulin Wiley reports that Givens will also provide consulting on critical wholesale and production elements—from pricing structure and line sheets to look books, key silhouettes, fabrics and fit.
