This Week In Fashion: Carmindy of 'What Not to Wear' Comes To Soft Surroundings And Neiman Marcus Celebrates The CUSP Event

TLC’s “What Not To Wear” beauty expert, Carmindy Kathryn Bowyer, is launching her own makeup line that will only be sold at Soft Surroundings and the Home Shopping Network. Bowyer will be visiting the flagship St. Louis store at 33 The Boulevard in Richmond Heights, on Wednesday, March 19 from 5-7 pm to host a launch party for her cosmetics line and book signing for her book “The 5 Minute Face.”

On March 20, the designers behind the accessory line ela will be showing off their newest collection at Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frontenac. The line is known for their handbag formula that makes sure their accessories can hold the necessities—money, ID, lipstick, cell phone and keys. From 11am to 3 pm, the designers will present their Spring ’14 collection, “Jungle Punk” followed by a Q&A with the audience.

March 20-25 marks several exciting events at Neiman Marcus as part of their annual CUSP Event—their big reveal of what you’ll want to slip into and sport this season:

  • From March 20-23, shoppers in the CUSP department will receive a golden rose cuff with a $300 contemporary purchase, plus receive $50 off a purchase of $500 or more.
  • On March 21, guests will enjoy an exclusive trunk show by Rena Lange from 10am-4pm. The spring 2014 collection will be held in the couture salon on the upper level.
  • March 22 brings The Pink Party: CUSP Trends, Canines and Concert. From 1pm-4pm, shop with your pooch and listen to a performance by Sleepy Kitty. Treats provided by Sugar Shack Nostalgic Sweets and gourmet bones provided by Riley’s Organics. Donations will go to the Humane Society of Missouri.   • Etro hosts a trunk show on March 25 from 10am-4pm in the couture salon, and will feature exquisite pieces from its latest collection

Central West End boutique 10denza celebrates both style and the end of a long winter with their #MAD4SPRING Party, taking place on Thursday, March 20 from 6-9pm. New spring collections, lines and swag will be available, with party favors that include bites by Gamlin Whiskey House, Sub Zero Vodka Bar and Taha’a Twisted Tiki, signature London Vodka cocktails, and tunes by New York City’s DJ Raven Fox. King Maker LLC partners with the Kwame Foundation‘s Cinderella Project this Friday, March 21 for an exclusive charity fashion event at the Mad Art Gallery that will include a cocktail hour and fashion show featuring spring looks by a few of St. Louis’ top boutiques. The Cinderella Project benefits young girls by offering them Prom and Homecoming dresses—therefore, in lieu of an entry fee,  guests are asked to bring in one slightly used dress to be donated. A “Text to Give” will also be set up as a form of donation. Cocktail reception begins at 5:30pm, with a runway show beginning at 7pm. Entry includes two complimentary cocktails. Handmade haven The Foundrie is set to hold their first warehouse sale this week from March 17-23. The event will take place in their Chesterfield store and will include discounted handmade goods, vintage clothing and accessories, and display items—all sold at discounts up to 70 percent off. The Foundrie will also be offering Mystery Grab Bags for $5 which will contain a $16-$40 value in handmade items. Owners Shelah McClymont and Elizabeth Hahn-Lawrence hope the event will become an annual occurrence. Taubman Prestige Outlets announces the addition of four new retailers to their roster. Coldwater Creek Factory Store, which will be the first in the region, Coach Factory, Justice & Brothers and The Uniform Outlet are set to open this summer, enhancing Taubman’s offerings for both the back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons.
