Mar. 11: Dada Kickoff Event at Neiman Marcus
Neiman Marcus teams up with the Contemporary Art Museum to host the official kickoff party on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30pm for the annual Dada Ball that is scheduled to take place on May 16. A Dada-style fashion presentation will feature outfits styled by special guests Dorte Probstein, Jeffrey Uslip and Susan Barrett. Champagne, cocktails and light bites will be provided. Mar. 11: Nigel Barker at Left Bank Books
Fashion’s jack-of-all-trades and ALIVE Magazine’s March cover star Nigel Barker is set to head to the Lou on March 11 for an appearance at the Boo Cat Club presented by Left Bank Books to promote his newest book, “Models of Influence.” Barker will participate in a conversation with Debra Bass, Fashion Editor of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, followed by a book signing. The event kicks off at 7pm and is now free and open to the public with reservations required. 312 Union Blvd, Central West End

Mar. 12: Saint Louis Made Pop-Up
On Thursday from 5-9pm, ALIVE Magazine presents the very first Saint Louis Made event, a pop-up shop featuring local makers at Ely Walker Lofts on Washington Avenue. More than 25 venders will be featured, snacks will be provided by Pappy’s Smokehouse and music by DJ Billy Brown.   • Leopard Boutique is prepping for the opening of a second location that will open up on May 1 across the river within the Streets of St. Charles development. The second location will complement the original Webster Groves location by offering similar merchandise at first, with edits possible in the future based on customer feedback. Specials for the opening weekend include a free gift with purchase on Friday, May 1 and on May 2, all purchases of over $200 will receive a $20 gift card.
  • St. Louis native Joanne Smith launches footwear line Crowne Comforteur, adding to the small roster of brands who have given the world of comfort footwear a stylish twist. Smith, a native in the industry with experience with brands including Keds and Cole Haan, has taken her love of London, and mod, ’60s-inspired styles to create a collection that includes several affordable styles including sandals, heels and ballet flats.
