BEcolorBlind Apparel and Blaq Seance Productions celebrate their next charity-meets-fashion event, Ripping The Runway For Doorways on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 6:30pm-10:30pm. Doorways is a non-profit organization that provides housing and supportive services to improve the health and quality of life for those living with HIV. The multi-cultural event will feature a fashion show, live entertainment, pop-up shops and more, providing attendees a truly unique experience. Designers vendors and live entertainment include Caroline Willard, Shukuru Couture, Ola Hawatmeh, Aqueesha Alexis, DJ Karma, singer Cassandra Llea, Hybrid Hip-Hop dancers 2.0, Beqi Clothing, Contrary Cupcakes, Park Lane Jewelry and more. Saks Fifth Avenue announced last week that they will be hosting an exclusive event featuring handbag designers Ela and Martin Aldorsson of Ela Handbags on March 20 from 11am-3pm. The couple’s fashion-forward yet refined handbag style, known as the M.I.L.C.K. clutch (and acronym for women’s necessities money/identification/lipstick/cell/keys), has launched their line to new heights, and St. Louis will be able to meet the designers and their newest collection, “Jungle Punk” first hand. Brainchild Events has slated to launch a new event known as F², uniting food and fashion on March 8, at Hiro Asian Kitchen on Washington Avenue. In their everyday lives, chefs and fashion designers strive to create beautiful and compelling works of art in order to impress and engage their audiences. For F2, those worlds will collide and guests will enjoy an exciting runway show with five delicious courses. Designers include Paulie Gibson and Victrola. ALIVE’s Marketing Director Lindsay Pattan recently caught up with Miita Collection designer, Angela Brugioni, at NYFW, where she announced the official launch of their brand at an exclusive event in NYC in January. Miita Collection was the winner of the last edition of Project:Design held at STLFW last fall where they made their Midwest debut.

  • Executive Producer Elizabeth Tucker is now reviewing designer submissions for spring STLFW events. Interested designers should send an application request to no later than Friday, Feb. 28 to be considered. Tucker will also be heading to New York Market and international fashion exhibition Coterie this week to scout new lines in preparation.
  • Saint Louis Fashion Week has teamed up with St. Louis Public Radio to host the official kickoff party for Spring STLFW at the STLPR offices on Thursday, March 27. The event will be held as part of their Kitchen Sink event series and will feature presentations by local designers Q Liu, Michael Drummond and Skif International immediately following a panel discussion featuring some of St. Louis’ most influential fashion professionals and enthusiasts.
