The Top Trends to Watch This Fall
It might be the start of summer, but the fashion world already has its sights fully set on Fall 2013. FGI Saint Louis–the local chapter of the well known global fashion industry professional organization–recently provided STL fashion enthusiasts with a global round-up of trends to watch this fall. The evening began with a tour of the Collective MX by Managing Director Nicole Benoist; then attendees moved upstairs to the MX Theater to view a trend recap presentation, which included leading trends in ready-to-wear, beauty and hair.
Although we fell in love with several of the trends FGI presented, we narrowed it down to our top picks of trends to watch–and wear–this fall.
Top Trends to Watch This Fall
The Fall 2013 runways and this year’s punk-themed Met Gala have us channeling our rebellious side. Designers like Chanel and Saint Laurent showed hardware-heavy boots and accessories while Junya Watanabe kept true to the original punk aesthetic of the ’70s and ’80s.
Gray is the new black this fall. Runways were rife with charcoals, slates and everything in between.
Furry finishes, feathered detailing, shearling and studded leather were just a handful of the trends that pointed to a textural makeover this fall. Nothing was left untouched–shoes, bags and jackets were popping up in textures that simply beg to be touched.
