The Nine Network and St. Louis Symphony Join Up for Upcoming Music Series

The Nine Network of Public Media and St. Louis Symphony announced on Thursday that they have partnered to present a new monthly television series called “Night at the Symphony.”

This series, containing nine episodes, will be broadcast on PBS in 2015. The series focuses on significant St. Louis Symphony performances and encores from previous shows. Those interested can tune into PBS on the first Monday each month at 7pm Central Time.

Here’s the lineup for “Night at the Symphony:”

Jan. 5
All-Tchaikovsky concert featuring conductor Cristian Macelaru, violin soloist Joo Kim, cellist James Czyzewski and more.

Feb. 2
Selections by Mussorgsky, Massenet, Tchaikovsky, Grieg and Copland featuring conductor David Robertson, violinist Dana Edison Myers and violinist Rebecca Boyer Hall.

April 6
Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” featuring conductor Steven Jarvi¬† and violin soloists such as Jessica Cheng, Angela Smart, Jooyeon Kong and Alison Harney.

May 4
Work by Brahms, Rosas, Ravel, Alfven, Borodin, Bartok and Ginastera featuring conductor David Robertson and violinists Eva Kozma and Silvian Iticovici.

July 6
Pieces by Copland, Ives and MacDowell featuring conductor David Robertson, cellist Alvin McCall and more.

Encore performances scheduled for Aug. 4, Sept. 7, Oct. 5 and Nov. 3.
