The Libertine Set To Open In May

The Libertine, the much-anticipated eatery from proprietors Nick and Audra Luedde, will be officially debuting on Tuesday, May 14, at 7927 Forsyth Blvd. in Clayton. The project is especially exciting for area foodies as it marks the return of chef Josh Galliano to the “full-time” restaurant world for the first time since the closing of the late, lamented Monarch last year.

The project is described by the owners as a “re-imagined neighborhood eatery” featuring food that’s ingredient-driven and locally sourced when possible. The menu has plenty of Galliano’s imaginative rustic, Southern touches on it, like the Three Little Birds, a roasted game hen, chicken and quail served up with rice grits, blistered tomato and a paddy pan and fava succotash. Beverage-wise, The Libertine boasts a wine list featuring a bevy of boutique vinos, a rotating craft beer selection and a full menu of creative cocktails.

Hours will be Tuesday through Thursday and Sundays from 5 to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. till midnight. Lunch service is slated to begin a little later this year once the operation is up and running. More details can be had online at libertinestl.com.
Once the doors are open, reservations can be made by calling 314.862.2999.
