Fashion meets literature this Friday night for an exciting event presented by Left Bank Books, The Missouri History Museum and ALIVE Magazine, featuring Lauren Weisberger, the New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Devil Wears Prada.” Weisberger, whose 2003 novel also became a box office hit starring the legendary Meryl Streep and Hollywood heavy-hitter Anne Hathaway, will be premiering a long-awaited sequel—aptly titled “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.”

“Revenge” finds confident journalist-turned-fashionista Andy, along with ex-nemesis Emily, 10 years post-Runway magazine and now the founders of a high-end bridal pub called The Plunge. Andy has not only scored her dream job, but has met her dream man–a handsome heir to a “storied media family”–and is planning what is sure to be the wedding of the year. In true dramatic timing, trouble ensures when Andy discovers that her dream life isn’t what it seems, and finds herself reunited with evil Miranda—the “Devil” herself—in a set of unforeseen circumstances.

The book, which is sure to be a hot summer read, naturally has both fans and critics buzzing about the possibility of a second box-office hit and a pending on-screen reunion of fashion foes, Hathaway and Streep. Although a cinematic adaptation of the sequel isn’t in the works quite yet, we, of course, have our fingers crossed.

To snag a copy of the book and hear snippets read by the novelist, head over to The Missouri History Museum on Friday, June 7 at 7pm. Entry is free and as a bonus to purchasing the book on-site, guests will get a priority spot in the signing line.
