Finding the perfect swimsuit can be dreadful … but why? We have pulled together a few tips that will make the quest to find figure-flattering and stylish swim gear a bit easier (and more fun).

Athletic

For women who have broad shoulders, smaller hips and muscular legs, you have some wiggle room to show off your toned bottom half with girly details and embellishments. In lieu of bandeau tops or boy-cut briefs that will cut up your figure, try softening up the look with feminine triangle top or halter—prints, stripes or bold colors welcome.

Curvy

An hourglass figure calls for a supportive suit that won’t distort your proportions. Important features can include underwire, halter tops, skirt overlays and small prints or color-blocking.

Straight and Narrow

Minimize Hips

Draw attention upward with a high-waisted bikini that elongates the legs and brings the eye to your flattering waist. Bottom pieces with a straight ruffle or skirt is also a bonus if you are pear-shaped.

Tummy Control
