Imagine a packed room, brightly lit and brimming with wildly dressed creatives, wispy supermodels (including GiGi Hadid), gorgeous and hardworking makeup, nail and hair stylists swirling all around you, giant blonde wigs, lots of pinks and yellows, and voila! You have Jeremy Scott’s back-of-house at NYFW 2015.

Head makeup artist Kabuki, a legendary makeup artist from Northern England—whose client list includes everyone from Rihanna to Rita Ora and Christina Aguilera—delivered a very “pop-meets-Raggedy-Ann” beauty look reminiscent of the late Amy Winehouse, with overdone, stenciled eyes and brightly colored lips.

Kabuki explained that the influences were all about the ’80s party scene in New York’s vibrant East Village and wanted to take Jeremy Scott’s look back to the old Club Palladium days. From there, the look was inspired by ’60s icon Twiggy, as well as Amy Winehouse.

The MAC Studio Water Weight Foundation used was very sheer, allowing Kabuki’s hand-stenciled lashes to pop with a supple coral lip. Products used include the MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation ($33), MAC Studio Finish Concealer ($19), MAC Clear Brow Set ($17), MAC Blacktrack Fluidline ($17), MAC On the Hunt Superslick Eye Liner ($21) and MAC Liquidlast Point Black ($21).

The self-dubbed “plastic fantastic” nail art was created by Miss Pop Nails, who produced her own take on the shoes in Jeremy Scott’s show, which were inspired by baby blow-up furniture.
