Barrett has joined forces with Kelly Peck and Kimberly Jacobs, who plan to use their extensive knowledge of the art world to provide consultation and support to fashion designers who are also artists, providing them a place to showcase their work within exhibitions and private and public collections. “It has been a dream of mine to pull fashion and art together and now was just a great time to do so,” says Barrett. “After ‘A Queen Within’ I really saw a missing link in the connections between fashion artists (like Hideki Seo) and exhibitors and collectors.”

Up first on the agenda, Barrett will be curating an exhibit at the Philip Slein Gallery to coincide with a hip-hop show at the World Chess Hall of Fame. “The WCHOF is in a really great place and our relationship is still strong,” says Barrett of the amicable split. “I will definitely continue to work with them within Barrett Barrera.”
