Mister Guy Women’s | Sarah Rhim
Mister Guy Women’s—which resides a few storefronts down from the men’s counterpart—is part of a Ladue-based retail concept that was launched by Sarah Rhim’s parents more than 35 years ago. Rhim has utilized her fashion genes wisely, nurturing and improving on their signature full-service shopping concept that caters to the needs of the clients, making it a timeless fixture of the St. Louis retail landscape in both tenure and style.
What part of town do you live? Tower Grove South. My husband and I own a Victorian farm house from 1887.
Favorite piece of art you own? The first painting that my husband did for me.
What kind of sheets are on your bed? Whatever was on my wedding registry.
What kind of stationary do you use? The Service Bureau has always been the iconic stationary house.
What kind of pets keep you company? Two mutts and two calico kitties who are sisters.
Favorite flowers? Foxglove and Hellebore.
Favorite restaurant in St. Louis? Tani Sushi Bistro–the new location is unbelievable.
Favorite drink? Casa Noble over ice with a whole squeezed lime and a splash of water.
Favorite dessert? My mom’s apple pie with a slice of sharp chedder.
Favorite snack? Stovetop popcorn with grass-fed butter and salt.
Top three DVR shows? “Shark Tank,” “Property Brothers” and “ Sesame Street.”
Favorite workout? Dance classes at Central Studio.
Favorite vacation? Our summer trip to Colorado. My family and I have been going every August since I was born. The mountain air is such a revelation.
Favorite movie? “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Favorite book? “The Diary of Anaïs Nin”
Beauty & Maintenance
Perfume/cologne? Burberry London.
What toothpaste brand do you use? Tom’s.
Favorite soap? The soaps from Library of Flowers are heavenly.
Nail-polish color? I’m always switching up my colors but the brand never changes: Butter of London.
Who would you like to be stuck on an island with? My family.
If there was one person, dead or alive that you could have dinner with, who would that be? Either of my grandmothers, they were the biggest influences on my life.
Who do you look up to most? My mother is my constant teacher and best friend.
How many siblings do you have? I am an only child.
What’s one word that most people would use to describe you? Kind.
What brand is your favorite pair of jeans? MAC jeans–truly at the top of their class.
Favorite brand of underwear? Knock Out.
Favorite t-shirt? I usually opt for button down shirts. Dress them up, dress them down, you’ll always look cool. Everything from D. Exterior is rather nice.

What are your must-have accessories? I have three: a bracelet by Echo of the Dreamer, a Clara Williams necklace and a pair of Evocateur earrings.
Favorite designer (if you have to choose one). Why? MaxMARA. They make such exquisite, timeless pieces. Own one and you’ll own it forever.
Shopping mecca? New York City, of course.
Shoe obsession. Donald Pliner, they are the perfect marriage of form and function.
Favorite discovery you’ve made? Moving back to St. Louis and feeling proud of the progress that we’ve made in the last 15 years.
Who inspires you? My husband. He is constantly introducing me to delightfully interesting people, and he make eggs benedict in the morning with homemade hollandaise.
Necessary extravagance? High quality food. We cook a lot as a family and I insist on the best ingredients.
Favorite place in the world? San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state.
Favorite actor/actress? Jeff Bridges and Lauren Bacall.
City that inspires you outside of St. Louis? Vancouver.
NYC, LA or San Fran? San Fran–my husband and I lived there for 8 years.
Favorite beach? Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz. It’s where I first fell in love.
