At ALIVE, we have a passion for fashion and are constantly inspired by what members of our staff (and our readers!) are wearing. Our newest Style Notes series, Staff Style, highlights the in-office attire of our eclectic team, which is often slightly unconventional, but always inspiring.

Our first feature stars our Editorial Assistant, Rikki Byrd. Her sophisticated boho-chic looks always catch our eye. “If I’m not comfortable, I won’t be the best at my job,” explains Rikki. “I often opt for jeans that allow me to sit in discombobulated ways, or a knee-length dress or skirt. The air blows directly over my desk, so I always make sure to have on a top thick enough to get me through the day, complemented by a jacket.”

What she’s wearing: “Vintage Levi Jeans I purchased at an underground thrift store in Chicago, thrifted wedges, Forever 21 necklace, kimono from my mom’s clothing line, Roi & Rik Designs and ring I took from my mom. I love heels, so you can always catch me in a pair—height, color, discomfort doesn’t matter, I’m always click-clacking around.”

Her work-wear tip: “I always try to wear a bright lipstick to seal the look; it takes me from, “I should have picked out my outfit last night” to “I woke up like this!”
