Stacked Up
This seasons stacked heels are as varied as they are versatile.
Forget the wobbly stiletto—this season’s stacked heels are much more substantial, and easier to rest your heels on. One of the game changers for the stacked trend was Michael Kors, whose transparent heels clearly showed their fashion-forward nature with a coordinating see-through strap. The addition of a leather buckle (that somehow seemed suspended in midair) added a refreshing aura of futuristic drama to what was otherwise a very sporty show. At Balenciaga, it was the brigade of lace-up neutrals that caught our eye—each a lesson in geometry as the chunky, parallelogram-shaped heels added a much-needed anchor to the label’s ruffled confections. Finally, our faves for summer were by Isabel Marant, who played up the haute hippie vibe with a sturdy wooden heel and metallic embellishments. With all the fab styles to choose from, there’s one thing we’re sure of: When it comes to finding your footwear “sole” mate, the odds are definitely stacked in your favor.
