According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the name of the hotel honors Caparo Group’s former chief executive, Angad Paul, who passed away in 2015. Caparo Group and Lawrence Group share ownership of the building in Grand Center.

After purchasing the building in 2013, Lawrence Group intended to create apartments in the historic space. However, Bull Moose, a Caparo Group company founded in St. Louis, expressed interest in using the space for its headquarters, which are currently in Chesterfield. Bull Moose offices will now occupy two floors of the 12-story building.

Lawrence Group’s chief executive, Steve Smith, says he expects completion of the hotel, offices and commercial space to be completed in July 2017.
