St. Louis Area Chefs, Restaurant Grab James Beard Award Nominations

The 2015 restaurant and chef award semifinalists were announced by the James Beard Foundation yesterday, with six coming from the St. Louis area.


Making the list for best chef in the Midwest are: Gerard Craft of Niche; Kevin Nashan of Sidney Street Café and Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co.Ben Poremba of ElaiaOlio and Old Standard Fried Chicken; and Kevin Willmann of Farmhaus.

Another area chef, Ed Heath of Cleveland-Heath, was nominated in the Best Chef: Great Lakes category. This is his first time being nominated for a James Beard award.

Also in the running this year is Annie Gunn’s for its Outstanding Wine Program. The Chesterfield dining destination is the only one that nabbed a nomination in this national category from the Midwest.
