Spring Saint Louis Fashion Week 2013 | GLOW: Go Local
Saturday was a night to remember in the St. Louis fashion world as fashionistas and fashionistos of all types and tastes gathered at MX Plaza Downtown for the grand finale of Spring Saint Louis Fashion Week, GLOW: Go Local. The buzz was in the air as attendees, from bloggers to buyers, designers to devotees noshed on tasty appetizers from Takaya and sipped Peroni brews, Pinnacle Vodka cocktails and Monster Energy drinks while waiting in eager anticipation for the runway show to begin. GLOW: Go Local featured some of the hottest spring collections from local retailers 10denza, Blush and Devil City as well as fall collections from local designers Paulie Gibson, Michael Drummond and Amy Johnson of KayOss Designs.

Many of the spring trends seen on New York Fashion Week runways made their way impeccably translated onto the catwalk at Saint Louis Fashion Week, from sheer, flowing fabrics, to showing some skin through bares midriffs and chic cutouts, to contrasting black and white pairings. Other looks that dominated GLOW were vivacious, sophisticated and full of character—painting the runway with the bold splashes of tangerine and aqua. Patterns spotted the collections with stripes, geometric designs, plaid, big floral patterns and houndstooth. Devil City strutted a beachy, nautical flair; Paulie Gibson channeled ’70s inspired menswear, while Michael Drummond blended the rock ‘n’ roll spirit of the ’60s with a futuristic vibe.
