Last year, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon launched the 100 Missouri Miles Challenge to encourage people to get out and get moving. In her recent editor’s letter, our own Jennifer Dulin Wiley explained how many options Missourians have, “From the many rivers and lakes within driving distance of St. Louis to our state parks and award-winning trails (Missouri was named Best Trails State by the national nonprofit, American Trails), there are plenty of ways to get active in and around St. Louis.”

Last year, through 100 Missouri Miles alone, the people of our fair state tracked over 1.1 million miles on Missouri trails. Now the total is at almost 2 million. The Missouri Department of Health suggests, “Adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week and two or more days of muscle-strengthening activities each week.” 100 Missouri Miles is a great way to get in crucial exercise and track progress and when you sign up and complete 100 miles you are rewarded with a medal from the state.
