Salvation Army Announces 4th Annual Garbage Bag Gala
The top fashion designers of St. Louis will be raising awareness and funds for homeless women, children and veterans in The Salvation Army’s fourth annual Garbage Bag Gala on July 23, an event showcasing garments created from trash bags, duct tape and other recyclable materials. A panel of judges, including ALIVE Magazine’s own fashion editor, Sarah Stallmann, will decide the winner of the design contest. The winning designer will earn a three-day, two-night stay in New York’s Garment district, a fashion-concentrated neighborhood located in the Manhattan borough of New York City.
This year, Fox Sports Midwest and The Cardinals Team’s Fredbird will highlight caring for the environment on the showroom floor of Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis’ new facility, across from the Zoo. Other committed sponsors include St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Brown Shoe Company, Carlos Santana Brand, Renewal by Andersen, and G2 Power.
The Salvation Army is donating 86 cents of every dollar to vital programs and services, so get “trashy” in support of the most effectively charitable organization in the USA that will have an immediate impact right here in St. Louis. Save the date!
