Saint Louis Fashion Fund And Saint Louis Ballet Team Up For A Mashup Of Ballet And Fashion
An exciting collaboration with the Saint Louis Fashion Fund kicks of Saint Louis Ballet’s 2016-2017 season, with a performance of “Vision: Where Ballet + Fashion Meet,” an original composition choreographed by two of New York City’s most impressive choreographers: Tom Gold and Emery LeCrone, in addition to Saint Louis Ballet artistic director Gen Horiuchi.
The performance will feature costumes designed by three emerging designers as curated by the SLFF: Jordana Warmflash, a Washington University graduate whose NOVIS line was a Saint Louis Fashion Fund 2015 Caleres Emerging Design finalist; Emily Brady Koplar, whose Wai Ming brand was a finalist in 2014 and is one of the inagural six designers in the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator; and Hillary Taymour, who first attracted attention for her Collina Strada line of leather handbags and satchels.
The three-part showcase will feature impressive performances by the Saint Louis Ballet which will each highlight a different choreographer-designer pairing: Gold and Warmflash, LeCrone and Taymour, and Horiuchi and Koplar. The event will be held one night only on Oct. 8 at 8pm at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available now.
