The Scarlett Designs Collection Debuts at Saint Louis Fashion Week

In Style

Scarlett Designs Collection, the design brainchild of Mary Strauss, Marilyn Simpson and Heather Lampe opened the STLFW Project Runway show Saturday night by presenting their vintage-inspired resort-wear in the glorious lobby of the Fabulous Fox Theatre. The collection, made from bark cloth collected over decades by Fox Theatre owner Mary Strauss, boasted bold prints and bright colors in dresses and separates reinterpreted from the iconic looks of the ’40s and ’50s. Reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood, the fashion presentation was accompanied by bossa nova beats and transported viewers to a time when glamour wasn’t called upon by occasion, but was a way of life.
