Panorama at the Saint Louis Art Museum Unveils New Menu, Monthly Dinner Series

Panorama at the Saint Louis Art Museum unveiled a new menu and cocktail program on Tuesday, and also rolled out a themed monthly dinner series.

The seasonally inspired menu highlights summer ingredients like tomatoes, strawberries and kale. It was developed by recently hired Executive Chef Ivy Magruder, formerly of Vin de Set, Eleven Eleven Mississippi and the now-closed Blue Water Grill.

Most recently, as corporate executive chef for the Gamlin Restaurant Group, Magruder opened Gamlin Whiskey House and Taha’a Twisted Tiki while also overseeing the Sub Zero Vodka Bar and the company’s events and catering. Magruder was selected after a national search by Bon Appétit Management Company, which operates the Panorama restaurant.

The new lunch and dinner menus include a summer kale salad (avocado, strawberries, toasted almonds and lemon-chia seed vinaigrette), pan-seared golden scallops (creamy-pea-basil risotto, sherry gastrique), Basque chicken (summer bell peppers, artichoke hearts, fresh basil, tomatoes, grilled crusty French bread) and grilled beef tenderloin (onion ring, Foyot sauce, summer tomatoes, spinach, roasted fingerling potato).

“All of our ingredients are sourced from local farmers and artisan producers when possible, and each dish is thoughtfully created to entertain the senses with an array of colors, flavors and aromas,” Magruder says.

New cocktails include the Panorama – Grapefruit (grapefruit juice, St. Germain, Champagne), peach bellini (local peach puree, Champagne), strawberry muddle (muddled strawberries, lemons, Champagne) and sparkling gin tarragon lemonade (gin, tarragon, St. Germain, lemon, club soda).

Panorama is also launching a themed dinner series that will partner with different local breweries, chefs and wineries each month. The first, to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, is a special prix fixe menu paired exclusively with Schlafly beers for $75 per person.
