Do you like to tweet? The Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is once again offering “Tweet Seats,” available to active Twitter users who want to tweet live from their seats during an OTSL production. This is the second year of the program, which was so successful last year the organization is expanding the program and offering two opportunities to tweeters, including tonight’s (Wednesday, May 28) performance of “The Magic Flute,” as well as the following Wednesday performance (June 4) of “The Elixir of Love.” Applications will continue to be accepted for tonight’s “The Magic Flute” until approximately 3pm.

The “Tweet Seat” program was first instituted in 2013 during a performance of “The Pirates of Penzance,” which generated more than 400 tweets using the hashtag #otslpirates. Later in the fall, the company again implemented “Tweet Seats” during a dress rehearsal of “The Very Last Green Thing.” So as not to disrupt other operagoers, the seats for tweeters will be located in the rear of the Loretto-Hilton Center.

Active Twitter users can apply to receive one complimentary ticket to “The Magic Flute” or “The Elixir of Love” by visiting the application page on the OTSL website. If you’d like to follow along on Twitter, tonight’s “Magic Flute” hashtag is #otslflute, and “The Elixir Of Love,” performing on June 4, is #otslelixir.
