When Jen Rieger and Chris Rubin de la Borbolla first hinted at the concept of moving their shop, The Clover, to the Delmar Loop a few months ago, I was eager to hear if the store concept would change at all with a move closer to the city. Although The Clover, which was located in Webster Groves, was a great place to find a large selection of denim and designer brands that were exclusive to STL, the pair were eager to start a new concept from scratch that better showcased their eclectic style and allow for more open opportunity to include other types of programming in addition to shopping.

After making the decision to shutter The Clover, Jen and Chris were able to fully develop their new shop concept, OSO: a style lab. Still in the construction phase, OSO will cater to a wider audience, allowing the owners to get even more creative with their offerings.

“The location of the shop is really critical for what we are trying to accomplish with OSO,” says de la Borbolla. “We felt that The Loop was the perfect place to test out this new store concept that would allow us to really carry some of the more avant-garde and pop culture-inspired lifestyle items that we love. We can do whatever we want with the space, really, and are excited to curate the types of items that we are really passionate about.”

OSO is to be considered a lifestyle store and will focus on providing the community with a unique selection of items that follow the high-low price point concept that the fashion industry is moving toward. The store will feature statement clothing for both men and women, gifts, accessories and “anything that we really love that goes with our aesthetic,” says Reiger. “Curation is key. These days people are seamlessly pairing designer items and higher-priced items with steals and lower-priced merchandise. We are following that same idea for our selection here. There really will be something for everyone.”

OSO is slated to open in early May and is located directly across from the Tivoli Theatre in The Loop at 6321 Delmar Blvd. Keep tabs on the shop’s Facebook page for the latest information about opening date and offerings!
