Tuesday, Nov. 12: Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened its second St. Louis location yesterday in Clayton. The first area location opened in Creve Coeur over a year ago, also owned and operated by Todd and Angie Stimson. The Stimsons feel Clayton is a natural location for their second shop, noting that a number of businesses in the area have sister locations in Chicago, where the restaurant chain began.

Saturday, Nov. 16: St. Louis’ newest food truck and perhaps only mobile doughnut shop, Vincent Van Doughnut, will hit the local circuit starting with a launch party at Heavy Riff Brewing Co. this weekend. While the truck has served a few private bookings this week, Saturday marks its official entre into the public scene. The truck will serve a daily selection of both classic and creative doughnut varieties from the window of its 1960 Ford Grumman Olson step van named Clyde. Watch VVD’s Twitter feed for the weekly schedule and menu. @VinVanDoughnut

Saturday, Dec. 7: The mobile tea shop, ReTrailer, is getting a brick-and-mortar home just in time for Christmas. Owner Lisa Govro will debut her new storefront on Cherokee Street during the weekend of the beloved Cherokee Print League Holiday Sale. While the space will be just as intimate (read: a tight fit) as the trailer was, the decor will get a modern makeover to match the progressive offerings of the cafe. Look for milk teas, tea alchemy and “fake coffee” as well as Red Fox and Whisk baked goods on the menu.

CLOSINGS

The Pasta House Co. restaurant at the corner of Old Bonhomme and Delmar in University City will close its doors before the end of the year. Co-owner Kim Tucci told St. Louis Magazine’s Relish Blog that the 6,800-square-foot space was just too big for a location that does a lot of take-out business, and that Pasta House will remain in the space until it finds another location or the landlord finds a new tenant.
