Sept. 15: Tower Grove residents Paul Whitsitt and David Rodgers plan to open Kitchen House Coffee, a neighborhood coffee shop that will serve the breakfast and lunch crowds. As reported by Sauce Magazine, they’ll serve Blueprint and Stringbean coffees, pastries from Whisk and farm bowls from Chef Dennis Rodgers of World Class Catering. They’ll have both drip, pour-over and cold brew coffee, as well as a full espresso bar. Kitchen House will also have a juice bar with fresh-squeezed juices. 3149 Shenandoah Ave., Tower Grove East

Closings:
July 23: Sushi restaurant Sekisui has closed, but the owners say they’re hoping to reopen in a new location. A Facebook post from mid-August states that they’re “working on the plans for a new space” and that they don’t want to release the name until they’re further along in the process. In the meantime, Sekisui is catering events. 3024 S. Grand Blvd., Tower Grove East, 314.772.0002

August 23: Vietnamese restaurant Mi Linh closed its doors in mid-August, and soon after owner Dee Dee Tran announced in a release that they’d be reinventing the space as Mi Linh Lounge and Spa. The walk-in spa will specialize in manicures and pedicures, and also offer appetizers, smoothies and cocktails. 9737 Manchester Rd., Rock Hill, 314.918.8868
