The menu includes Mexican staples like burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, chimichangas and more. 3324 North Lindbergh Blvd., Bridgeton, 314.736.4516
Saturday, July 12: Inspired by similar venues in other big cities like Manhattan, Tokyo and San Francisco, owner Ryan O’Day has renovated Unkle Munkey’s Coin Club into a hybrid restaurant/bar/arcade just down the street from his Asian fusion restaurant Wang Gang. In addition to offering classic arcade favorites like Pong and Ms. Pacman, Unkle Munkey’s serves pub fare with a twist.
Look for hot “sammys,” including a Pastrami on Companion marble rye, and cold “sammys” like the The Henny Penny (thin-sliced chicken breast, Granny Smith apple, arugula, bleu cheese, red onion, cilantro sesame aioli, nine grain wheat). Unkle Munkey’s also serves decked out Hot Dawwgs, including There’s a Pig in My Pineapple (white cheddar, pineapple, jalapeno, Korean BBQ) and the Yuppie Slaw Dawwg (cilantro sesame aioli, red cabbage carrot slaw, sesame seeds). 1027 Century Dr., Edwardsville
The Riverfront Times reports that Monte Bello Pizzeria is closed temporarily, after some repairs turned into a lot more work than owner Tom Nix had anticipated. To offset the costs of the $25,000 repairs, he’s started a GoFundMe campaign. Each donation level reaps a reward of a gift certificate to the restaurant or menu item, including pizza and appetizers, at Monte Bello. You can follow their progress through updates on Facebook. 3662 Weber Rd., South St. Louis, 314.638.8861
