Nov. 10: Jason’s Deli recently celebrated the grand opening of its second St. Louis area location in Kirkwood. Famous for a wide selection of sandwiches, salad bar and more, the restaurant boasts quick, quality meals made with fresh ingredients and no artificial trans fats, MSG, high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors and dyes. 1253 S. Nov. 11: Racanelli’s New York Pizzeria has once again returned to University City with the opening of its fifth location in the Loop. Nov. 28: Chris Bolyard of Sidney Street Cafe, along with his wife Abbie, have set up shop at the former home to the Black Cat Theatre in Maplewood with Bolyard’s Meat & Provisions, opening this Friday. The duo’s efforts aim for the feel of an “old-school,” whole animal butcher shop that will offer a high-quality, responsibly-raised, local meat selection.

After working for more than 10 years as Kevin Nashan’s chef de cuisine in the award-winning Sidney Street Cafe, Bolyard has been able to hone his craft with master cuts. His years in the business are also the key to connecting his local farm relationships to the St. Louis community. The market will offer an array of house-made sausages as well as smoked meats, charcuterie, beef jerky and even dog food made with meat trimmings. Stocks, sauces and marinades will also be available in addition to local artisan products and Bolyard’s “REM-E-DY” menu, which will offer sippable savory broths to go. Early December: New local fast-food restaurant, Taco Circus, will be joining the Bevo Mill area. Closings

Local sports bar Lester’s has closed two of its three locations. The Central West End location shuttered just two weeks after the announcement of the Chesterfield spot closing its doors. The original location in Ladue will remain open. 9906 Clayton Road, Ladue, 314.994.0055
