Made-to-order ice creams from Ices Plain & Fancy will soon be making its debut on the streets. The Shaw nitro ice cream parlor posted a photo of a 1964 Divco Milk Truck that was purchased and will be getting picked up from its current home in Texas. The shop will be making all the restorations and paint jobs themselves and have not yet announced an estimated date of arrival. According to Sauce, the truck will not necessarily run like a food truck in the traditional way, but rather be used for more private functions and events. They will, however, hopefully make the occasional street appearance. 2256 S. 39th St., Shaw, 314.601.3604

Coming Summer 2015:

Maplewood will be receiving another new dining destination. Chef Matt Daughaday announced plans to open his own restaurant, Reeds American Table, in the former location which housed the recently closed Home Wine Kitchen. The former executive chef of Taste will be creating a family dinner type atmosphere in the multi-level space. Former general manager of Elaia and Olio Andrey Ivanov will be joining to the team to run the restaurant’s bar program. 7322 Manchester Road, Maplewood

Fans of Vince Valenza’s popular Blues City Deli will soon be able to enjoy his new venture, Melo’s Pizza, opening on the same property as the popular sandwich joint. The Benton Park spot will be offering wood-fired pizzas—with a Blues City Deli touch—made in an oven that will be imported from Naples. The garage in the alley next to the deli is going to be renovated to house the pizza joint. Guests at both locations will be able to eat together on the shared new patio area. 2438 McNair Ave., Benton Park, 314.773.8225

Construction is underway to build a new bar and grill in the spot that used to house Tin Can Tavern in Tower Grove. As reported by Feast, Rob Pennington and Blake Urbani are the new restaurateurs to open City Park Grill, hopefully as early as June. The spot will aim to cater to a large audience in the neighborhood, and will be offering a full bar plus a menu of housemade items ranging from soups and salads to pub fare like potato skins. 3157 Morgan Ford Road, Tower Grove South
