Openings

Feb. 25: North Carolina-based grocery company The Fresh Market added its first Missouri location to Creve Coeur last week. The store will be open daily from 8am-9pm and offers a variety of fresh produce ranging from fruits and vegetables to seafood and meats. There’s also a label system in place that marks items with info such as the local stamp, which indicates the product came from within 100 miles of the location. 11557 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, 314.692.8471

Feb. 27: Bevo Mill welcomed a new member to the neighborhood last week with Taco Circus. A fast food joint in the sense of service and price, but not quality, the menu is small with a locally-sourced selection of tacos and items like Frito pies and funnel cakes. Taco Circus will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. 4258 Schiller Place, Bevo Mill, 314.808.2050

March 4: Reservations are now being taken for The Loop’s newest restaurant, Público, which is opening its doors tonight for dinner at 5pm. The highly anticipated taberna (meaning Spanish-style tavern) from chef-owner Mike Randolph will be serving a menu filled with Latin American-inspired dishes made in a custom-made wood fired hearth alongside handcrafted cocktails. 6679 Delmar Blvd., The Loop

Summer 2015: Retreat Gastropub will be making its way to the Cortex district of Central West End this summer. Opening in the former home of 6 North Cafe, the American gastropub will focus on giving guests a distinct beverage program featuring both local and national beers as well as a selection of craft cocktails infused with house made syrups and tinctures. According to owner Travis Howard—whose most recent experience comes from management positions at Baileys’ Range—the interior will give a retro-modern mix feel inspired by the outdoors. The beers on tap will be minimal in order to provide a large selection of bottles and cans. As far as the menu goes, there will be a variety of made-from-scratch pub food that will aim to utilize local produce for lunch, dinner and late-night eats. 2 N. Sarah St., Central West End
