Thursday, Nov. 21: Restaurateur brothers Adam and Jason Tilford announced last week they will open a second location of their popular Loop eatery, Mission Taco Joint, in Soulard. Ian Froeb of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch broke the story on Nov. 21, citing a lack of adequate seating at the original location as the impetus for expanding the restaurant. The Soulard outpost will be located at 908 Lafayette Ave., across the street from Bogart’s Smokehouse.

Friday, Nov. 22: Bud’s Smokehouse Grill opened on Friday in the building that houses Starr’s Wine and Spirits at 1135 S. Big Bend Blvd. Owner Bud Starr is working with Memphis pitmaster Antonio Taylor to serve upscale barbecue fare in the dining room attached to the wine shop. Expect a variety of smoked meats and ribs, burgers, exceptional sides and inspired salads and soups; a number of locally raised meat options set the menu apart. Bud’s is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday.

Popular Indian food truck Bombay Food Junkies is joining the ranks of its peers by offering fans a brick-and-mortar option for noshing on items from its mobile menu. Junkies has opened the retail dining spot in its commissary at 3578 Adie Road, just south of the former Northwest Plaza in St. Ann. The 16-seat eatery currently serves dine-in and carryout customers only on Thursday nights, but plans to expand service in December to include Friday dinner and Saturday lunch. Check out the food truck’s menu to see the full menu.
