April 6: New fast-casual eatery Medina Mediterranean Grill has joined the ranks Downtown. Housed in the former Gelateria Tavolini space on Washington Ave., the new spot features Middle Eastern flavors with a menu of two categories: Medina grill (sandwiches) and Medina garden (salads). Sandwiches include items such as chicken shawarma and falafel, while salads can also have beef or chicken shawarma on a variety of veggie combinations. Medina Mediterranean Grill will be open for lunch and dinner daily, with some late night hours on the weekend. 1327 Washington Ave., Downtown

May 2015: The Wood Cask is currently under construction to open in the former home of Kirkwood’s Eleven Mile House. Guests can expect to find a wide variety of whiskey, scotch and bourbon on the menu in addition to an extensive list of wine and local beers on draft, as reported by Sauce. The menu will include upscale Southern-inspired fare with items like roasted chicken and dumplings, deviled eggs with smoked trout or candied bacon and more. 10332 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, 314.378.0545

Mid-summer 2015: New dining destination Copper Pig will be joining the popular Southampton neighborhood on Macklind Avenue. As reported by Feast, owner Nhat Nguyen of the former Urban bar on South Grand will be creating a gastropub that serves up a comfort food menu that will pay homage to his Vietnamese heritage. The restaurant will offer a full bar as well as a line of local craft beers. There won’t be outdoor seating, but there will be 8-foot windows along the length of the storefront that will open to the street. 4611 Macklind Ave., Southampton
