Openings/ Closings: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Opens in CWE This Week

Chef Mike Randolph will close the doors on his Neapolitan-style pizza joint, The Good Pie, at the end of June. However, Riverfront Times reports that he will be filling the space with a new concept and some of The Good Pie’s recipes will make the transition. Come early August, the evolved concept of The Good Pie, named Randolfi’s, will open in that space. 6665 Delmar Blvd., The Loop

Last week,The BBQ Saloon finally opened its doors after more than a year of delays. The barbecue joint from the owners of the Wildflower Grill offers up five barbecue plates and four sandwiches, with sides of potato salad, slaw, baked beans or corn bread.  The restaurant is now open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am until midnight. 4900 Laclede Ave., Central West End, 314.833.6666

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will open its first scoop shop in Missouri this week in the Central West End. Starting at 7pm on June 4, the scoop shop will generously be offering free scoops of ice cream until 10pm, and the first 50 people in line will receive Jeni’s new ceramic Flavor Mugs. Jeni’s founder Jeni Britton Bauer will also be at the event to welcome St. Louis to her ice cream shop. 389 N. Euclid Ave., Central West End, 314.367.1700
