Monday, Aug. 19: Housed within Saint Louis University Law School’s new Downtown digs on Tucker Boulevard, The Docket brings grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options, a lunch buffet and sit-down dinner service with a local focus on the public. Operated by Bon Appétit Management Co.—the same outfit in charge of Washington University’s dining services and the new Panorama Restaurant at SLAM—the eatery focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and housemade menu items. Look for tasty Roman-style pizzas, family-style meat and pasta entrees, and housemade cocktails and sodas, among many other options.

Thursday, Aug. 29: Sandwich aficionados rejoice! The second location for Fozzie’s Sandwich Emporium has opened at 11656 Manchester Road, Des Peres, in the former home of Dottie’s Ice Cream Parlor. The 1,400-square-foot, 40-seat establishment is much roomier than its 10-seat sister location in Richmond Heights. The menu at Fozzie’s No. 2 will be identical to the original, serving exceptional sandwiches, seasonal salads and shakes with fresh and original flavor combinations. Both shops are open daily from 11am to 9pm and deliver within five miles of the shop.

Friday, Aug. 30: To commemorate the end of Stone Soup Cottage’s reign at 5525 Oak St. in Cottleville, chef Carl McConnell served a very special “Last Week on Oak Street” menu that culminated last Friday. The lavish six-course meal was a re-creation of the restaurant’s opening menu and consisted of lobster consomme, simmered Bartlett pears with gorgonzola and pancetta, salmon en papillote, black truffle risotto with fresh morels, a duo of duck leg confit and seared breast, and Dutch chocolate souffle with garden mint and creme anglaise.

Those who missed out on the sentimental affair shouldn’t fret; a whole new chapter begins for the beloved farm-to-table establishment when it reopens next month on a 6.5-acre plot adjacent to its original location. 636.244.2233
