Sunday, Sept. 1:Feraro’s Jersey Style Pizza has opened its third location at 7704 Ivory St. in the Patch. The menu offers the same giant Jersey-style pizzas that have made it a local favorite, including The Boss (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and black olives with a touch of garlic) and The Garden State (bell peppers, spinach, fresh mushrooms, onions and fresh tomatoes). 7704 Ivory St., The Patch, 314.256.0500

Wednesday, Sept. 4: Steve Gontram, owner of 5 Star Burgers in Clayton, announced that his popular upscale burger joint will open a second location in Kirkwood, with a target date of Dec. 15. Plans to move into the space recently vacated by Culpeppers are underway, and Gontram is looking forward to more space in which he can experiment and expand his menu of offerings, as well as offer 18 local beers on tap, and more in the bottle. Gontram has mentioned a third location could surface in 2014, possibly Downtown, in the Central West End or in Chesterfield.

Saturday, Sept. 7: Husband-and-wife team Abder and Assia Meskine opened the doors last week to Baida, a Moroccan restaurant on South Grand. The ethnic eatery serves tantalizing appetizers such as zaluuk (eggplant dip), bastilla (a small sweet-and-savory chicken pie), shrimp pil pil (baked shrimp in tomato sauce) and loubia (slow-baked white bean dip with paprika, cumin and tomatoes). The menu’s entree offerings include a variety of tajines, kabobs, couscous dishes and more. Executive chef Jeremy Bowman is recreating the Meskine’s authentic recipes in the kitchen, while Bowman’s wife, Angela Komis (former kitchen manager at Local Harvest Cafe in Kirkwood), is behind the bar. October 2013: Park Avenue Coffee has been hard at work at 5105 Columbia Ave., on The Hill, transforming the space into its third location. The newest Park Ave coffee shop will serve its regular lineup of coffee drinks, fruit smoothies and baked goods, but will also accommodate its foray into roasting. For the last seven years, the shop has served Chauvin Coffee, but will now roast its own direct-trade beans using an air roaster at the new location and serve the coffee at all its shops. And in 2014, Park Ave’s baking operations will be moved to The Hill, as well, from its current location in Dogtown.

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Mosaic Tapas Downtown and Des Peres locations. Its mini-restaurant in Lambert-St. Louis International Airport remains open.

Wednesday, Sept. 4: Culpeppers, 312 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood.

Friday, Sept. 6: Green Bean, 232 N. Euclid Ave., Central West End.
