Just two years after their initial opening, 4 Hands Brewing Co. is ready for a major expansion. The brewery will add 8,000 square feet to the second floor, giving Kevin Lemp and his brew crew more room to experiment with new styles and amp up production to 24,000 barrels a year. Of the new space, 3,000 square feet will go toward a temperature-controlled cellar for wine barrels to age its beers, with the remainder used for raw material storage. The revamped brewery is set to open at the end of August. 1220 S. Eighth St., LaSalle Park, 314.436.1559

O’Fallon Brewery, the second-largest craft brewery in the city, recently closed on a 38,000-square-foot production facility in Maryland Heights. Set to open in March 2015, it will feature a brew house, tasting rooms, an outdoor patio and tours. The brewery will produce 25,000 barrels a year, compared to 9,500 barrels currently brewed at the Stevens Point Brewery and its headquarters in O’Fallon. 26 W. Industrial Dr., O’Fallon, 636.474.2337
